San Diego, CA (January 4, 2017) – Due to a shortage of annual Adventure Passes, forest visitors parked in standard amenity recreation fee sites within the Los Padres, Angeles, San Bernardino and Cleveland National Forests can utilize annual passes that would have expired in 2016 or January 2017 until February 28, 2017.
Individuals not in possession of an expired annual pass can purchase a daily pass for $5. Visitors without a pass could be issued a citation by patrol officers. Interagency America the Beautiful passes are available starting January 3.
Information on valid recreation passes, such as the Adventure Pass and America the Beautiful (a National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands pass) can be found at http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/r5/passes-permits/recreation.
